Innovation, synonymous with Convergence and Entrepreneurship.

Santiago Iñiguez, Dean and Professor of Strategy
Given the relevancy to both IE Business School blogs I am writing simultaneousy in both "convergence@IE" & "Entrepreneurship" as I believe the topic to be equally as relevant to both.
On 2 June 2007, Eugenio and Javier Sánchez-Ramade, Spain´s 2006 Entrepreneur Of The Year country winners will be amongst others from 40 countries around the world going to Monte Carlo to be inducted into the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Academy and vie for the title of Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur Of The Year.
I would like to draw your attention that applications for next year´s edition will be accepted from next June onwards.
Will Spain appear for the first time in the Past Global Winners Section? Can we think of anyone who should enter?
Furthermore, CEOs of the most promising private companies, the VC and investor community, and business development, strategy and marketing executives from the largest public technology companies will come together to celebrate the Red Herring 100 Europe Awards at Venture Market Europe in Cannes on March 25-27
Here are also the Pulver 100 companies to watch in 2007. In their own words: "The Pulver 100 is the first and foremost listing of privately held growth companies that represent the future of IP communications. Originally introduced in 2002, the pulver 100 recognizes companies that have substantial real-world deployments and enjoy significant growth rates". Is interesting to note that many of the companies are also on the Red Herring 100.
How important are these awards to the recognised companies?
